488 new dengue patients hospitalized in 24hrs

No dengue-related deaths were reported in the country over the past 24 hours.


According to a press release issued on today by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 488 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during this period. 

Of these, 58 patients were admitted in Barisal Division (outside the City Corporation), 66 in Chittagong Division, 84 in Dhaka Division (outside the City Corporation), 189 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 45 in Dhaka South City Corporation, and 46 in Mymensingh Division (outside the City Corporation).

At the same time, 578 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. So far this year, a total of 72,966 patients have recovered from dengue after receiving treatment, reports BSS. 

According to DGHS data, 76,514 people have been infected with dengue across the country so far this year. Among them, 65.2 percent are men and 34.8 percent are women.

Although no deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, the total number of dengue-related deaths this year stands at 307, the DGHS report added.
