25 hurt as 2 groups clash in Kishoreganj

At least 25 people have been injured, including three by bullets, in clashes between two groups at Bhairab upazila in Kishoreganj.



At least 25 people have been injured, including three by bullets, in clashes between two groups at Bhairab upazila in Kishoreganj district.
The clashes took place in Bhairabpur area on Saturday evening.
Quoting locals, police said two groups locked in clashes over a quarrel between two youths of the area. Around 10 shops were looted and vandalised during the clashes.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control by firing 42 rounds of bullets.
At that time, three people sustained bullet injuries. Among them, one was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while the other two were admitted to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex.
Assistant superintendent of Bhairab circle police (ASP) Rezwan Deepu said six police personnel got injuries while trying to stop the clashes.
Additional police forces were deployed in the area to avert further untoward situations, he added.
