Attack on cultural programme in Sirajganj, 8 injured

At least eight people were injured in a attacked on cultural programme in Sirajganj .

At least eight people were injured in a attacked on cultural programme in Sirajganj on Friday night.
Musical instruments, chairs and other valuables were also vandalised during the incident.
Sources said ‘Sirajganj Baul Shilpi Goshthi’ marking its 18th anniversary organised the two-day cultural programme at Abdur Rouf town hall near Sirajganj Bazar station.
After inauguration a discussion was held. Later, the cultural programme resumed around 8:20pm.
Suddenly a group of people attacked the artistes and vandalised the musical instrument and other valuables at the venue claiming that they were making loud noise during Isha prayer time.
Some seven to eight artistes were also assaulted during the incident.
Officer-in-Charge of Sirajganj Police Station Md Humayun Kabir said they are looking into the matter.
