Couple electrocuted in Gaibandha

An auto-rickshaw driver & his wife electrocuted in Gaibandha district



Gaibandha, Sept 26 - A couple was electrocuted  while charging an auto-rickshaw battery at their home at Khola Mondol's Bazar area in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha district Thursday  morning.

The deceased were identified as Bidhan Chandra, an auto-rickshaw driver and his wife Kamala Rani.

Witnesses said, Bidhan Chandra got electrocuted when he was attempting to charge the battery of his auto-rickshaw at home.

Upon hearing his scream, his wife rushed to help but she was also electrocuted. Both died at the scene.

Sadullapur Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shafiqul Islam confirmed the incident.-UNB
