The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Monday announced a list of potential candidates for 237 parliamentary constituencies ahead of the upcoming national elections.

Party Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been named to contest from Bogura-7, Dinajpur-3, and Feni-1 seats, while Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to run from Bogura-6.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will contest from Thakurgaon-1, according to decisions made at a meeting of the party’s Standing Committee held at the Chairperson’s Gulshan office.

Party sources said the list of candidates may undergo changes following discussions with alliance partners, and final adjustments could be made by the Standing Committee before nomination submissions.
