BERC reduces jet fuel price by Tk 15.67 per litre

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today decreased Jet A-1 (jet fuel) price for domestic and international airlines by Taka 15.67 and $0.10 per litre respectively.


According to the regulatory commission circular issued today, the price of Jet A-1 fuel was declined by Taka 15.67 per litre to Taka 150.21 from Taka 165.88 for domestic careers.

Secretary of BERC Md Nazrul Islam Sarkar said that the price has been decreased by $0.1015 per litre to $0.9808 from US$1.0823 for international airlines.

The new pricing would come into effect from 12 midnight leading to June 7, 2026, he said.

The regulatory agency said considering the Platts Rate from May 22 to June 4, 2026 on an average, the commission circular said.

The BERC held a public hearing today in accordance with Sections 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003 in view of the proposal of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL). 

Considering detailed price according to Platts Rate of Jet A-1 from 22 May 2026 to 4 June 2026 along with the US dollar exchange rate in Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation's (BPC) Letter of Credit (LC) settlement, the BERC adjusted the price for June, reports BSS.
