Fire at Kalshi slum, 13 units of fire fighters working to control blaze

A fire has broken out at the Kalshi slum in the capital while 13 units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence have been working to bring the fire under control.


Anwarul Islam Dolon, an official of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said after receiving the report at 7.23 PM, two units were initially dispatched to the scene and began firefighting operations. Later, more units were sent to assist as now 13 units are carrying out operations to bring the fire under control.

No information has yet been received regarding the initial cause of the fire, the extent of the damage, or any casualties, he added, reports BSS.
