Two young children have tragically lost their lives in a devastating fire that broke out in their home in Bhanga upazila, Faridpur. The victims, Ismail Munsi, 4, son of Siddiq Munsi, and Yasin Munsi, 3, son of Asad Munsi, sustained severe burn injuries and later succumbed to their wounds despite medical efforts at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the two boys were playing in the kitchen of their home while their parents were away. According to reports, the children accidentally placed some jute chalk into the cooking stove, causing a quick ignition. The flames rapidly spread through the kitchen, overwhelming the boys.

Panicked, the children attempted to escape to a nearby bathroom, but the fire soon followed them. Unaware that the children were trapped inside, villagers rushed to put out the fire, only discovering the boys' distress once the flames were under control. The children’s cries for help were heard, prompting villagers to rush them to the Bhanga Upazila Health Complex.

Dr. Mouli Chowdhury, a physician at the health complex, reported that Yasin suffered burns covering 68% of his body, while Ismail was burned over 90%. Both children were transferred to the burn unit at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where they later died from their injuries around 9:15 PM.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the dangers of fire hazards in the home and serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of supervision and safety, especially for young children. Local authorities have urged families to take extra precautions to prevent similar accidents.
