Winning the FIFA World Cup has long been commemorated with the iconic golden trophy and winners' medals. Beginning with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, however, champions will receive an additional symbol of their achievement — a championship ring.
According to FIFA, players and coaching staff of the title-winning team will be awarded the special rings for the first time in the tournament's history. A total of 2,026 rings will be produced, with 30 reserved for the champions and the remaining 1,996 made available for fans.
Immediately after the World Cup final, the winning team's captain and head coach will be presented with temporary commemorative rings during the on-field celebrations. The 30 official championship rings for the victorious squad will later be custom-made to match each recipient's finger size before being formally presented.
Each ring will feature the FIFA World Cup Trophy design, the identity of the championship-winning team and a unique serial number. The rings will also come with a certificate of authenticity.
Meanwhile, reigning world champions Argentina will face Spain in a high-profile clash on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.
