Dhaka, Barisal, Rangpur post win in Bangabandhu U-17 Gold Cup

Dhaka, 23 Dec - Dhaka, Barisal and Rangpur Divisions won their respective matches of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman National Gold Cup Football Tournament Boys (U-17) held Friday at Mohammad Govt. Physical Education College ground in the city.

In the day’s first match, Dhaka division beat Rajshahi division by 4-2 goals while Barisal division secured the spot of semifinal defeating Khulna division by 4-2 goals in the penalty shootout in the day’s second match.

Rangpur division stayed in the title race after beating Chattogram division by 5-3 goals in penalty shootout after the regulation time ended in a 2-2 goal draw in the day’s third match. 

Barisal division will face Dhaka division in the first semifinal while Sylhet division face Rangpur division in the second semifinal scheduled to be held on Monday (Dec 26).
Meanwhile, four quarterfinals matches of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib National Gold Cup Football Tournament Girls (U-17) will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at the same venue.  

The final of the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib National Gold Cup Football Tournament Girls (U-17) will be held on December 29 at Bangladesh Army Stadium at 12 noon.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given her kind consent to grace the final.
