BFF observe 17th death anniversary of late Monem Munna

Dhaka, 12 Feb - The Bangladesh Football Federation today (BFF)

observed the 17th death anniversary of legendary defender late Monem Munna,

said a Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) press release
Seventeen years ago in 2005, famous footballer, Monem Munna passed away on this

day. He suffered from kidney related complication and fell into the lap of death.

The BFF remembered the national hero by arranging Quran khatam at the BFF Bhaban and special prayer and milad mahfil were held at Jhilpar Jame Mosque.

Munna played for Bangladesh national football team from 1986 until 1997.

 He served as the captain of the national team three times. In 1995, under his leadership, Bangladesh won the four-nation Tiger Trophy in Myanmar, the first-ever international trophy won by the country. Bangladesh also became runners-up in 1995 SAF games, under his captaincy.

He also played for popular Abahani Limited regularly with reputation for eleven years since 1987.
