Inter-departmental football competition held in Noakhali

Noakhali, 8 Jan - The final match and prize-distribution ceremony of the inter-departmental football competition 2024-25 was held on Noakhali University of Science and Technology playground today.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Ismail, vice-chancellor (VC) of the university, was present as the chief guest and distributed prizes after the final match, organised by Physical Education Department of the university.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, the VC said: "We want to increase the extracurricular activities of our students by organising cricket and other such sports ... I'll try my best so that they can focus on studies as well as physical and mental development."

He also congratulated the champions and runners-up teams for showing such a challenging final match.

The prize distribution ceremony presided over by the Director of Physical Education Department (Acting) Prof Dr. Mohammad Amjad Hossain.

Deputy Director of Physical Education Department Sanjeev Kumar Dey, Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Department Mohammad Nizam Uddin, teachers, students, officials and employees of the university were present, among others, in the prize-distribution ceremony.

Mentionable, the competition was started on November 14 last year with the participation of 33 departments of Noakhali University of Science and Technology. The tournament was held in knock out basis format.-BSS
