Beach football tournament held in Cox's Bazar

Dhaka, 8 Jan - A daylong beach football tournament held at the Kolatoli sea beach in the tourist city of Cox's Bazar today.

Four teams, split into two groups, took part in the knock out basis tournament, organised by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) with the cooperation of Cox's Bazar District Football Association, said a BFF press release here.

 
The four teams were named after Inani, Labani, Bakkhali and Himchori football teams from the famous tourist center of Cox's Bazar.
 
Nine footballers took part in each team. The match duration was thirty minutes.

The final match between Laboni and Bakkhali was held with Bakkhali emerging champions beating Laboni by 5-4 goals in penalty shootout in the keenly contested match.
 
Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Salahuddin, BFF Executive Member Manjurul Karim and Beach Football Committee Chairman Shaheen Hassan were present in the beach football festival.

The beach football tournament organized on the occasion of Festival of Youth 2025 which was earlier announced by the Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

The Festival of Youth 2025 will continue till February 19.-BSS
