The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has issued 16 guidelines to ensure uninterrupted emergency medical services at government hospitals during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

The instructions, signed by Dr. Abu Hussain Md Moinul Ahsan, Director of Hospital and Clinics at DGHS, include several key measures to manage healthcare services during the holiday period:

   - Full-time doctors must be present, with additional staff assigned to the emergency department if needed.
   - Emergency services, including labor rooms, emergency OT, and labs, should operate 24/7.
   - To maintain adequate manpower, leave can be granted in phases before and after Eid, with priority given to emergency services.
   - The Civil Surgeon will coordinate essential staff in each district, informing the Divisional Director as necessary.
   - Hospital heads must supervise departmental operations daily, ensuring round-the-clock lab, X-ray, and specialist doctor services at medical college hospitals, specialized hospitals, district hospitals, and upazila health complexes.
   - Hospitals must ensure adequate stocks of medicines, IV fluids, reagents, and surgical materials before the holiday, with storekeepers remaining on-site.
   - Ambulance services and fire safety measures must be maintained 24/7.
   - The local administration and law enforcement should be notified for hospital security during the holiday.
   - The head of each institution must ensure quality food service for patients on Eid and regularly communicate with staff on duty, exchanging greetings.

Additionally, the outpatient department cannot remain closed for more than 72 hours. Private clinics and hospitals must keep emergency and maternity services open, offering necessary first aid and transportation for referred patients. Any major accidents or disasters should be reported immediately to the DGHS control room.

These measures aim to ensure the smooth functioning of healthcare services during the Eid holidays, prioritizing public health and safety.
