UN HR Office to Release Report on July-Aug 2024 BD Protests

The UN Human Rights Office will unveil its fact-finding report, titled "Human Rights Violations and Abuses," detailing the protests that took place in Bangladesh during July and August 2024. The launch is scheduled for February 13, with a press conference at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.


High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk will open the event with introductory remarks. Other panellists will include Rory Mungoven, Chief of the Asia-Pacific Section, Jyotsna Poudyal, Human Rights Officer, and Ravina Shamdasani, Chief Spokesperson.

The news conference will be streamed live on UN Web TV for those wishing to follow the event remotely. The report will be released prior to the press conference.
