The workers of a ready-made garment (RMG) in  Savar on Tuesday staged demonstrations in the capital protesting sexual harassment of women workers.
The workers formed a human chain under the banner of the National Garment Workers Federation in front of the Jatiya Press Club Tuesday noon.
The protesting workers alleged that the admin manager of Chinese-owned Risingtex Fashion Limited in Ashulia of Savar often sexually harasses the factory’s female workers.
When the workers demanded punishment of the official, the factory authorities did not take any step and that officer sexually harassed the female workers again on November 13.
Later, when the workers protested against it again, the factory authorities fired 32 workers, said the workers.
And so, the workers formed the human chain demanding justice and  reinstatement of jobs in the factory, said Amirul Haque Amin, president of the National Garments Workers’ Federation.
