Dhaka, 25 Feb - A documentary film ‘Intercepted’ was screened at Alliance Francaise de Dhaka on Monday to mark the three years of the Ukraine War.

The Ukrainian-Canadian-French documentary film, which highlights the dehumanising impacts of the war, was screened in cooperation with the delegation of the European Union in Bangladesh.

EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller and Director of Alliance française de Dhaka François Grosjean spoke before the screening.

Michael Miller said the disaster (caused by the Russian aggression) — in terms of the loss of lives and the loss of infrastructures — is incredible.

He said Intercepted is a disturbing documentary on the impacts of the war that Russia has been waging in Ukraine for the past three years.

“We want to screen this documentary because in reality Ukraine is fighting for the European Union,” said the EU ambassador.

He said the EU has provided financing of over US$ 145 billion to Ukraine since 2022.

"We are not turning our backs on the Ukrainian people,” he said.

Michael Miller said they are expressing solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people for the sake of the future security of the European Union.

Intercepted is a 2024 film that merges the intercepted phone calls of Russian soldiers in Ukraine with their families back home with images of the destruction caused by the invasion. The film is written and directed by Oksana Karpovych.
