2 killed as pickup van overturns on Padma Bridge

Two people were killed and three others injured after a pickup van overturned on the Padma Multipurpose Bridge .

Two people were killed and three others injured after a pickup van overturned on the Padma Multipurpose Bridge on Sunday night.
The deceased were Raju Khandaker, 45, and Md Kawser, 23.
Police said a Dhaka-bound pickup van carrying empty gas cylinders overturned on the bridge around 10:00 pm after its driver had lost control over the steering, leaving two dead on the spot and three others injured.
The injured were rescued in critical condition and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. They are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Srinagar Upazila Health Complex for autopsy, said Padma North Police Station officer in-charge Alamgir Hossain.
