The government has decided to exclude teachers and staff from government universities from the 'Prottoy' scheme and has completely revoked the newly introduced pension system. This decision was finalized following a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with members of the Peshajibi Shomonnoy Parishad today, August 3.

In addition to withdrawing the Prottoy scheme, Prime Minister Hasina urged quota protesters to avoid violence and instead engage in dialogue with the government. She expressed willingness to meet with the protesters at Ganobhaban to hear their concerns firsthand.
"The door of Ganobhaban is open. I am ready to sit with the quota protesters and listen to their grievances. I appeal for an end to all forms of violence," the Prime Minister stated.
