New Murder Charge Filed Against Sheikh Hasina

A new murder case has been filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 15 others, accusing them of the death of a fourth-grade student who was allegedly killed by gunfire from a helicopter during a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) operation in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.

The complaint was lodged on Thursday by Abdullah Abu Sayeed, the uncle of the deceased, who lives in Tejgaon. He presented the case to Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury.

Magistrate Chowdhury has recorded the complainant's statement and instructed Mohammadpur Police Station to file the complaint as a First Information Report (FIR).

This is the fourth case filed against Sheikh Hasina to date.

The complaint alleges that on July 19, Jobayed Hossain Imon, a madrasa student, was killed during a RAB operation in Mohammadpur that was part of the Quota Reform Movement.
