No Decision Yet on Presidential Issue: Interim Government

The interim government has confirmed that no decision has been made regarding the President's situation, stating that any updates will be communicated to the media in due course.

"Political parties are our stakeholders. Today's meeting with the BNP is part of ongoing dialogue. You will be informed if any decision is reached," said Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam outside the State guesthouse Jamuna on Wednesday.

Alam addressed repeated inquiries about the potential resignation or removal of the President. He also reassured that the Chief Adviser is in good health and continues to meet regularly.

On Tuesday, Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jahangir reiterated the government's position, supporting Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul's comments about President Mohammed Shahabuddin.

"The government aligns with what Dr. Nazrul stated regarding the President; there has been no decision about his removal," Jahangir said at the Foreign Service Academy.

Dr. Asif Nazrul had previously accused President Shahabuddin of dishonesty regarding a resignation letter from former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, claiming that the President’s assertion of not receiving it constituted a violation of his oath of office.
