Four burnt in gas cylinder explosion in Gazipur

Gas cylinder explosion in Gazipur



Gazipur, Nov 17 - Four people, including a woman, were burnt in a gas cylinder explosion in Gazipur on Saturday night.

The injured have been identified as Md. Tanzil, 22, Rabbi, 20, Shamsul, 65, and Rozina Haque, 49.

Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Kashimpur Police Station, said the injured were burnt in a gas cylinder explosion at a residence in Bagbari area of Kashimpur. The injured were initially treated at a local clinic before being transferred to a hospital in Dhaka for advanced care.

Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman, a resident doctor at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, informed that the victims were brought to the hospital’s emergency department in critical condition last night.

Tanzil suffered 30% burns, Rabbi 23%, Shamsul 5%, and Rozina 3%. Due to the severity of their injuries, two of the victims were moved to the intensive care unit after observation in the emergency department, he added.-UNB
