In a statement released on Sunday, Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that it is closely monitoring developments in Syria and reaffirmed its commitment to the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Bangladesh strongly condemned Israel's recent acts of aggression, calling them illegal during this critical transition period. The government stressed that Syria now faces a vital opportunity to rebuild on principles of inclusivity, democracy, and human rights.
Bangladesh also called on the international community, especially the United Nations, to intensify efforts to protect civilians, uphold humanitarian principles, and support an inclusive political solution in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2254.
"It is crucial that all external actions respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity," the statement said. The government further urged all parties to engage in nation-building efforts reflecting the will of the Syrian people, with an emphasis on inclusive democracy and sustainable peace for long-term regional stability.
