Three-member KOICA delegate visit BTF tomorrow

Dhaka, 9 April - A three-member delegate of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA )will visit the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation (BTF) Thursday to discuss in detail of the wide participation of youth in taekwondo training programs, modernization needs and other issues, said a press release.

The delegates are MS Eunhae Go, program manager, KOICA Bangladesh office, Md Fazle Rabby, program manager, KOICA Bangladesh office and Meem Nur Hosain Turzo, program officer, KOICA Bangladesh office.

KOICA is the government development cooperation organization of South Korea. The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs established the KOICA in 1991. Since its establishment, this organization has been providing cooperation in various social, cultural, economic, sports, technical and educational fields to various developing countries around the world.

This organization has been cooperating in various fields including sports in Bangladesh. In 2002, Mr Lee Ju Sang was appointed as the first foreign Taekwondo coach of BTF through KOICA.

In that year, KOICA also introduced higher training programs in BTF. In addition, a total of six years of training programs (every two years) were held in Rajshahi through Korean coach and provided Rajshahi University a project worth U$$ 50 to 60 thousand. 

The BTF hopes that that this program would undoubtedly take the standard of Taekwondo of Bangladesh and the federation to a unique height.BSS
