CU confers honorary D.Litt degree on Chief Adviser

Chittagong University (CU) has conferred an honorary Doctor of Literature (D.Litt) degree on Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in recognition of his remarkable contributions to poverty alleviation through microcredit and his efforts in promoting global peace.

The honour was bestowed during the university’s 5th Convocation Ceremony, held Wednesday at CU’s central playground.

CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Yeahia Akhter formally presented the honorary degree certificate to Professor Yunus on behalf of the university.

CU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Dr Mohammed Shamim Uddin Khan and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Md Kamal Uddin were also present at the ceremony.
