DMP arrests 92 for consuming, selling drugs in city

As part of the anti-drug campaign in the capital, members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested a total of 92 people drugs during last 24 hours till 6am today on charges of selling and consuming.

According to a release issued by the DMP, police conducted the operations against drug sellers and consumers in different areas under various police stations and detained 92 drug traffickers and recovered a huge amount of drugs from their possession from 6am of May 19 to 6 am today.

During the anti-drug drives, police seized 253.9 grams and 353 puria (small packet) of heroin, 80.798 kilograms and 90 puria (small packet) of cannabis

 (ganja), 2,763 pieces of yaba tablets and five bottle of local liquor from them, it said.

Police filed 72 cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act, reports BSS.
