OC withdrawn for `taking bribe` in Rajshahi

An officer-in-charge (OC) of Charghat police station was withdrawn to Rajshahi district’s police lines following an allegation of taking bribe.



An officer-in-charge (OC) of Charghat police station was withdrawn to Rajshahi district’s police lines following an allegation of taking bribe.
District spokesperson and special branch additional police super (ASP) Rafiqul Alam confirmed the matter on Sunday (September 17).
Sources said that the OC Mahbubul Alam took the victim Sahara Begum to his bedroom on September 13 and demanded Tk 5 lakh. Later, the woman filed a written complaint against the OC and submitted an audio record.
Sahara Begum also claimed that her husband contested in the local union parishad election and had dispute with local politicians. Following the dispute, her husband Abdul Alim Kalu was arrested in a fake drug case.
Regarding the complaint, OC Mahbubul Alam said that he also got the audio record.
