Khulna Police Lines hold mourning rally; stick to their 11-point demand

Khulna policelines demand justice for the killing of policemen during student-led movement



Khulna, Aug 09 - Members of Khulna Police Lines held a mourning rally demanding justice for the killing of policemen during the anti-discrimination student movement.

They held the rally after Jumma prayer at the Police Lines on Friday.

Besides, the policemen are continuing their strike to meet their 11-point demand as part of the central programme.

The demands include-trial for the killing of policemen during the anti-discrimination student movement, not forcing them to do more than 8 hours of duty, providing allowance for over duty, providing the opportunity to enjoy all public holidays including Fridays and Saturdays. If they cannot spend holidays for the sake of the country, provide extra money for these days. Providing benefits, providing source money, increasing risk allowance, prioritizing the constitution and the wishes of the people in the orders of higher authorities, ensuring the opportunity to work impartially by keeping the police free from politics, ensuring safe workplaces by strengthening the security network, eliminating discrimination by taking steps for promotion, Ensuring predominance of district nearest to own district in case of transfer, and Enacting Police Reform Act.
