Iran conflict poses major challenge for govt: Nazrul

Nazrul Islam Khan, political adviser to the prime minister and a member of the party’s standing committee, has identified the ongoing Iran–United States conflict as one of the most pressing challenges facing the government.

He made the remarks on Friday (24 April) at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, following a meeting with leaders of the Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal ahead of May Day.

Highlighting the broader implications of global instability, Nazrul warned that the conflict is already impacting Bangladesh’s economic and political landscape. He noted that uncertainty in international markets and geopolitical tensions could disrupt key development initiatives and slow overall progress.

The senior leader also stressed the need for careful policy responses to mitigate potential fallout and safeguard the country’s economic stability.
