Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad on Wednesday said that security without accountability cannot ensure global stability in the evolving world order.

He made the remarks while speaking at the closing session of a two-day international conference, where he also emphasised the importance of investing in the development of new leadership amid rapid technological change.

He said such initiatives reflect responsibility toward building the nation’s future while also strengthening public trust and confidence.

The conference was organised by the Centre for Future Studies of Bangladesh University of Professionals and focused on “National Security in South Asia in the Context of the New World Order.” Discussions covered topics including shifting global power dynamics, regional cooperation, energy security, migration and refugee issues, misinformation and disinformation, and broader security challenges in South Asia.

The Speaker said security is not determined only by internal strength but also by knowledge, strategic understanding, and stable international relations.

The event brought together regional and international experts who presented research-based insights on emerging security challenges in the region and globally.

Among the keynote speakers were Pramod Jaiswal of Nepal, Subashini Abeyasinghe of Sri Lanka, Salma Malik of Pakistan, and Greg Simons of Sweden.

He thanked the university authorities, including Vice Chancellor Major General Md Mahbub-Ul Alam, for organising the event.

Faculty members, researchers, students, and invited guests were also present at the programme.
