Jamaat-e-Islami has asked the leaders and activists from across the country to make the rally a success.

In a bid to blockade the capital Dhaka, Jamaat-e-Islami will take position at Shapla Chattar in the capital's Motijheel area on October 28 (Saturday).

It has also reiterated to hold its rally at Shapla Chattar on Saturday  at any cost, sources in the party said.

Despite any permission from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Jamaat-e-Islami has asked the leaders and activists from across the country to make the rally a success.

On Thursday, DMP Joint Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarkar at a press conference said “Jamaat-e-Islami is an anti-liberation party, many of its leaders are convicted war criminals and it is not now a registered party, so they will not get permission to hold a rally”.

Meanwhile, in a virtual press conference, Jamaat acting Amir Mujibur Rahman asked the party leaders and activists not to be misguided by the ‘provocative, undemocratic and unconstitutional’ directives by the government.
