Four BNP men jailed for hurling cocktails on police

A court here Tuesday sentenced four leaders and activists of BNP to two-year imprisonment for hurling cocktails on police.



A court here Tuesday sentenced four leaders and activists of BNP to two-year imprisonment in a case lodged for hurling cocktails on police and obstructing the law enforcers from observing their duty.
The four convicts are Dhaka North city unit BNP convening committee member Jahangir Mollah, Ismail, Abu Bakar Siddique and Bacchu.
Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque pronounced the
judgement after trying the accused in absentia. The court also issued arrest
warrant against them.
Police filed the case with Badda Police Station in the capital as the
convicts hurled cocktails on police and obstructed them from observing their
duties in Badda area during BNP's hartal on October 28, 2013.
After probing the case, police filed charge-sheet against 35 and the court
Tuesday came up with the judgement after examining 13 of the total 14 witnesses
in the case.
