Khelafat Movement's 15-point proposal; Demand for separate Sharia courts

Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan on Saturday placed its 15-point proposal for reform of the state at an opinion exchange meeting at the National Press Club. 2025-01-11



The Bangladesh Khelafat Movement has presented 15-point proposals, including determining the teachings of the Quran and Hadith as the main basis for state reform, adopting the Quran and Sunnah as the basis of state policies, adding Bismillahir Rahmaniir Rahim to the constitution, eliminating secularism and restoring full trust and faith in Allah, introducing an interest-free financial system, including a curriculum based on the Quran and Sunnah at all levels of education, separating the judiciary and establishing a separate Sharia court by forming a board consisting of learned muftis, establishing national unity and solidarity in the light of the Madina Charter, establishing diplomatic and commercial relations with foreign countries on the basis of independence, sovereignty and morality, and providing military training to all able-bodied citizens aged fifteen to forty for national defense.

On Saturday (January 11, 2025) at 3 pm, Mufti Sultan Mohiuddin, Organizing Secretary of the Bangladesh Khilafat Movement, presented a written proposal at a view-sharing meeting titled "Khilafat Movement's Proposal for State Reforms" at the Tofazzal Hossain Mia Hall of the National Press Club.

The meeting, chaired by Khelafat Movement Secretary General Maulana Habibullah Miyazi and moderated by International Affairs Secretary and Dhaka Metropolitan Secretary Mofacchir Hossain, was attended by, among others, Nayeb Ameer Maulana Mujibur Rahman Rahman Hamidi, Central Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Nazmul Hasan, Joint Secretary General of the Khelafat Movement Md. Rokonuzzaman Rokon, Maulana Sanaullah Hafezzi, Alhaj Atiqur Rahman Nannu Munshi, Publicity Secretary Maulana Saiful Islam Sunamganji, Industry and Commerce Secretary Maulana Towhiduzzaman, Information and Research Secretary and Dhaka Metropolitan Ameer Maulana Mahbubur Rahman, Dhaka Metropolitan Organizing Secretary Mufti Abul Hasan Qasemi, Mufti Mahfuz Musleh among others.

At the meeting, various proposals were presented to protect the environment and natural resources, reduce foreign imports and increase domestic production, provide interest-free loans to farmers, solve the unemployment problem, form a separate police commission, and bring order to public administration. – Press release
