Tarique Rahman, Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), vowed today that if his party wins the upcoming election, it will form a government inclusive of those oppressed over the past 17 years, ensuring equal rights for people of all faiths.

“If elected, we will form a government with the oppressed people and protect the rights of all Bangladeshis, regardless of their religion,” Rahman said in a virtual address during a workshop at Tufan Convention Centre in the district town.

The workshop was organized by the BNP Central Training Affairs Committee, focusing on the party’s 31-point demands, which Rahman clarified were not just BNP’s charter but had been developed in consultation with its political allies.

Rahman emphasized that BNP is not just the party of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Khaleda Zia, or any individual, but of all BNP members and supporters across the nation. He urged party leaders and activists to take the 31-point demands to every household ahead of the general election.

As part of BNP’s commitments, Rahman pledged to build a railway line in Satkhira district and provide financial support cards to women in families, helping them fund their children’s education and medical treatment if the party is elected.

The event was attended by several key figures, including BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Md Ismail Zabiullah, Central Publication Secretary Habibul Islam Habib, and Training Affairs Secretary ABM Mosharraf Hossain, among others. The program was chaired by Satkhira District BNP Convener Adv. Syed Iftekhar Ali, with notable local leaders also present.
