Joint Forces Launch 'Operation Devil Hunt' Nationwide: Home Ministry

The government has announced the launch of a nationwide crackdown, "Operation Devil Hunt," starting today, aimed at apprehending those responsible for recent violence and restoring law and order.

The decision came after a joint meeting of law enforcement agencies on Friday night, following a terror attack on students in Gazipur district.

A Home Ministry press release stated, "The operation will commence in Gazipur and extend across the country starting today." The operation follows Friday’s attack, in which several individuals were critically injured by attackers described as "terrorists from the fallen fascists."

Home Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, who visited the injured students at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) this morning, vowed to take stringent action against the perpetrators. "None involved in the attack on the students in Gazipur will be spared. Legal action is underway, and all responsible individuals will be held accountable," he said.

He also directed authorities to ensure the maximum punishment for the attackers.

The assault occurred on Friday night at the Gazipur residence of AKM Mozammel Haque, former Liberation War affairs minister and senior Awami League leader, where party leaders and activists allegedly targeted the students.
