The leaders of the Bangladesh Khilafat Movement, opposing the Public Administration Reform Commission's proposal to divide the country into four provinces, have said that if the idea of four provinces is implemented, it will encourage separatism. As a result, there is a good chance that the long-running conspiracy to separate the Chittagong Hill Tracts from Bangladesh and form an independent state will succeed. Our country is not big enough to be divided into provinces. Moreover, there is no such regional division among us ethnically. Although the Khilafat Movement agrees in principle with the current government's reform program, the leaders called on the government to drop this proposal to divide it into four provinces.

The leaders made this call at the monthly meeting of the Bangladesh Khilafat Movement's Central Majlis-e-Amela (Executive Committee) at Markazul Khilafat Jamia Nooria Islamia in Kamrangirchar, the capital, today, Saturday (February 08, 2025) at 11 am.

The meeting, chaired by the Secretary General of the Khilafat Movement, Maulana Habibullah Miyaji, was attended by, among others, Nayeb-e-Amir Maulana Sheikh Azim Uddin, Maulana Mujibur Rahman Hamidi, Joint Secretary General Maulana Sanaullah Hafezzi, Organizing Secretary Maulana Sultan Mohiuddin, Maulana Kamrul Islam, Maulana Sajedur Rahman Faizi, Engineer Mofasshir Hossain, Mufti Abdur Bari, Mr. Atiqul Islam, Maulana Touhiduzzaman, Hafez Maulana Abu Taher, Maulana Mahmudul Hasan Shariatpuri, Maulana Saiful Islam Jamali, Maulana Gazi Yusuf, Hafez Abul Kashem Raipuri, Maulana Salauddin Joynal, Mufti Al Amin, Mufti Akhtaruzzaman Ashrafi, Mufti Abul Hasan Qasemi, etc.

The leaders condemned the incitement of violence by the fugitive former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in an online speech at the meeting. They called on the government to immediately arrest those conspirators to destabilize the country and all those involved in the July massacre and quell the public anger.

The meeting also strongly condemned and protested the plan of US President Donald Trump and the bloodthirsty Prime Minister of the illegal state of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, to transfer Gazans from their own land to another country.

The meeting discussed and reviewed various important national and organizational issues including organizing Iftar mahfils in district and police station branches across the country during the month of Ramadan, preparation for elections, unity process with Islamic parties, etc. and took decisions. - Press release
