The first meeting of the National Consensus Commission with political parties is scheduled for tomorrow.

Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser and chairman of the commission, will preside over the session.

The meeting will take place at the Foreign Service Academy at 3 p.m., according to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.

A BNP delegation, led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, will attend the meeting, BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed. Representatives from other political parties are also expected to join.

On Thursday, the interim government formed the seven-member National Consensus Commission to engage with political parties on the recommendations of six reform commissions. These discussions aim to reach a consensus on political, constitutional, and electoral reforms.

Other commission members include Prof. Ali Riaz (Constitutional Reform), Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury (Public Administration Reform), Safar Raj Hossain (Police Reform), Badiul Alam Majumder (Election Reform), Justice Emdadul Haque (Judiciary Reform), and Dr. Iftekharuzzaman (Anti-Corruption Reform).

The commission will complete its consensus-building tasks within six months, with the Chief Adviser’s Office providing secretarial support.
