ADSM to Launch New Political Party Within a Week
The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement (ADSM) has revealed its intentions to establish a new student political party, with organizational procedures set to begin tomorrow through both online and offline campaigns.
This announcement was made during a press conference held this afternoon in front of Madhur Canteen at Dhaka University, where key coordinators of the movement were present.
Speaking to BSS, ADSM Coordinator Abdul Kader explained that the movement serves as an umbrella organization, bringing together students, activists, and leaders from various political parties with a shared vision for the nation's welfare. Their aim, he said, is to challenge the current government, which they describe as fascist, and work toward its removal from power.
"Following the revolution, many political activists returned to their respective parties, but those without a political identity were left with no place to belong," Kader remarked. "We’ve decided to form a centrist political party to provide a platform for those who wish to continue their political journey with us. The committee for this new party will be announced within a week."
The press conference was attended by several prominent ADSM figures, including Abu Baker Majumder, Rifat Rashid, Hasib Al Islam, Tahmid Al Mudassir, Abdullah Saleheen Ayon, and Jahid Ahsan.
