Dr. Iftikher Mahmood accepts FOBANA Outstanding Service Award for Hope Foundation
The Hope Foundation for Women and Children of Bangladesh has been honored with the FOBANA Outstanding Service Award 2024-2025 at the 39th annual convention of the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA), held on August 30 at the Gas South Convention Center, Atlanta.
The award was presented by FOBANA Chairman Masud Rob Chowdhury and Vice Chairman Mohammad Rahman Zahir, recognizing the foundation’s long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, according to a press release.
Dr. Iftikher Mahmood, founder of the Hope Foundation, accepted the award on behalf of the organization. In his remarks, Dr. Mahmood thanked FOBANA for its four decades of dedication in preserving Bangladeshi culture and heritage across North America. He also expressed heartfelt appreciation for the honor bestowed on the foundation.
For the past 26 years, the Hope Foundation has been delivering healthcare to marginalized communities in Bangladesh through hospitals and health clinics, including specialized facilities for refugees. The foundation is a pioneer in obstetric fistula surgery and has established one of the country’s earliest midwifery schools, significantly contributing to maternal and child healthcare.
