Even though the cyclonic storm 'MIDHILI' over Northwest Bay completed crossing the coast and weakened into a depression, it may cause light rain at places over the port city of the country, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin this morning.

"Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, having chances of light rain at one or two places over Chattogram division in the next 24 hours commencing from 9am today," it said.

However, temperature may remain nearly unchanged and Day temperature may rise 1-3 degree Celsius over the country, it added.

Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 30.8 degrees Celsius at Sayedpu and today's minimum temperature 15.1 degrees Celsius was recorded at Tetulia.

The highest rainfall across the country in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 219mm at Chandpur.

The sun sets at 05:12 pm today and rises at 06:16 am tomorrow in the capital.

As the depression is likely to weaken further and become insignificant, a met office special weather bulletin advised the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra to lower the cautionary signals, reports BSS.

Also, all fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to proceed with caution till 6pm today, the special bulletin said.
