OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha addresses International Conference in Support of Lebanon People and Sovereignty on Thursday

Jeddah, 24 October, 2024 The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, addressed the International Conference in Support of Lebanon's People and Sovereignty, convened at the invitation of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, on 24 October 2024 in Paris, France.

The Secretary-General thanked the French President for this timely and laudable initiative.

He condemned the brutal Israeli aggression against Lebanon and reiterated OIC's commitment to Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The OIC Secretary-General called for an immediate cease-fire and urged the international community to achieve durable peace, including through the full implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha also called on States and international organizations to scale up humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of the conflict-affected population, including the forcibly displaced.
