Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) has signed an agreement with private Robi Axentech PLC to introduce smart port services based on 5G technology.

CPA Chairman Rear Admiral M Moniruzzaman and Robi Axentech CEO Adil Hossain Noble signed the agreement at the Bandar Bhaban here today.

Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Ashiq Chowdhury was present at that time.

CPA sources said, under the agreement possibilities of establishing a private network of 5G-technology at the Chattogram port will be explored to introduce smart port services.

The smart port service will include advanced security management, automated testing labs, smart access control, and intelligent control systems for vehicles and gantry cranes.

The port chairman said, "This is an important step towards transforming the country's main port into a modern and technology-based smart port."

Robi Axentech’s 5G technology is expected to play a significant role in making the country's port services more dynamic and effective, he said, reports BSS.

We expect Robi to complete the work within this year, the chairman said.
