Patuakhali: Thousands of tourists flock to Kuakata in Patuakhali during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays. Although the expected number of tourists did not arrive in Kuakata on Thursday, the number of tourists has started increasing since Friday morning.
It was seen that the tourists who arrived were swimming and diving with the rough waves of the sea at the zero point of the beach. Many are walking along the long beach holding the hands of their loved ones. Some are sitting on the umbrella benches of the beach with their loved ones and enjoying the natural beauty. Child tourists are playing with the sand on the beach with shovels. A festive atmosphere prevails on the entire beach. The number of tourists has started increasing not only at Zero Point but also at all tourist spots including Lembur Forest, Jhau Forest and Gangamati.
Meanwhile, hotel motel sources said that the desired number of tourists has been arriving in Kuakata since Friday afternoon. Hotel and motel businessmen are expecting a gathering of millions of tourists this year.
Naynika Ahmed and her husband, who came to Kuakata from Uttara, Dhaka, said, "I came to Kuakata with my family for the Eid holidays. It feels good to walk on the long beach, swim in the sea, and then sit on the umbrella bench on the beach and eat fish fry, chatpati, fuchka, and nuts. Watching the sunset and sunrise with your loved ones will be a unique memory of this year's Kuakata trip."
Abdul Motaleb Sharif, president of the Kuakata Hotel and Motel Owners Association, said, "Like every year, this year too, Kuakata will become festive with the arrival of tourists during the Eid holidays. Room bookings for residential hotels and motels have also increased. We have continued our best efforts to serve tourists."
Kuakata Municipal Administrator Yasin Sadek said, Law and order forces are on the highest alert for the safety of tourists. Besides the Thana Police and Tourism Police, several teams of Detective Police are on duty. In addition, mobile courts are deployed to ensure the safety and quality services of tourists. - Gofran Palash
