Tourists scarce in Kuakata during Ramadan



Patuakhali: Kuakata beach is empty of tourists during the holy month of Ramadan. Even on public holidays, the entire beach is empty, only a handful of tourists can be seen diving and swimming at Zero Point.

Beach sightseeing spot Jhowban, Shuntkipalli, Lemburban, Kuakata Udyan whole tourist area is empty. Although such images are seen during Ramadan, these spectacular spots in madrush were visited by tourists during the last few months of holidays.

Local tourists concerned said that a large number of tourists have come to Kuakata since the inauguration of the Padma Bridge. But suddenly, at the beginning of Ramadan, Kuakata beach, famous for mermaids, has become empty of tourists. However, tourism-related businessmen expect that many tourists will arrive around Eid.

Sushil Chandra, a tourist from India, said, "I came from West Bengal with the intention of visiting Kuakata. Very beautiful Kuakata. There are less people on the beach during the month of Ramadan because it is busy with worship. It would be nice if there were people.'

Tour Operators Association of Kuakata (Towak) Secretary General Zahirul Islam said, due to Ramadan, our tourists have decreased a little. But there will be some tourists after 15 Ramadan and quite advanced bookings after Eid. As a result, the hotels and motels are recovering their entire work.

Hafizur Rahman, sub-inspector of Tourist Police Kuakata zone, said, 'We have different teams working at different points in Kuakata. At present there are less tourists. I am fully supporting those who are now in Kuakata.' - Gofran Biswas Palash
