CCGP approves Tk 3,748cr road, infrastructure projects
The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Wednesday approved two major procurement proposals for infrastructure development involving a combined cost of around Tk 3,748 crore.
Under the first proposal, the committee recommended awarding a contract worth Tk 118.33 crore for emergency rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads, bridges and culverts under the project titled “Emergency Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of Various Roads, Bridges and Culverts under Sunamganj and Habiganj Road Divisions Damaged in the 2022 Flood”.
The project aims to rehabilitate and reconstruct road infrastructure damaged by the 2022 floods in Sunamganj and Habiganj.
The committee also recommended approval of a major infrastructure package worth Tk 3,629.96 crore under the “Supporting Infrastructure Project for Chinese Economic and Industrial Zone” being implemented by Invest Bangladesh.
The Prime Minister’s Office placed the proposal.
China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) was recommended as the successful bidder for the package.
The CCGP recommended approval of both procurement proposals, reports UNB.
