The ferry movement became normal around 9am on Satuday, said BIWTC Narsinghpur Ferry Ghat manager Iqbal Hossain.

The ferry services on Shariatpur-Chandpur route have resumed after being disrupted for six hours caused by dense fog.

The ferry movement became normal around 9am on Satuday, said BIWTC Narsinghpur Ferry Ghat manager Iqbal Hossain.

Earlier, the ferry service on this route was suspended at 3 am due to poor visibility caused by the dense fog and to avoid any accident. However, no ferry had to be anchored midway, he said.

He also said that there are seven ferries on this route. Before the inauguration of the Padma Bridge, hundreds of vehicles used to wait for the ferry on the route. But now the traffic pressure has reduced.
