Mother, son found dead at Jashore home

Police recovered the bodies of a woman and her son from a room of their home in Bagherpara upazila of Jashore on Saturday night.


The deceased were identified as Zubaida Khatun, 30, wife of Zakir Hossain, and their six-year-old son Jisan, residents of Khalshi village in Dohakula Union of the upazila.

Locals said they spotted the bodies inside a room of Zakir's house and informed police.

Police went to the spot around 10pm and recovered the bodies. They were later sent to Jashore 250-bed General Hospital for autopsies.

Police said the actual cause of the deaths would be known after receiving the autopsy reports.

Zakir Hossain was at his business establishment at Baharampur Bazar when the incident occurred.

Officer-in-Charge of Bagherpara Police Station Shah Jalal Alam also described the incident as suspicious and said it did not appear to be a case of suicide, reports UNB.

He said police are investigating the incident and the actual circumstances would become clear after the autopsy.
