Four children drown in Narayanganj pond

Four children drowned in a pond in the Khanpara area under Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj on Thursday evening.


The deceased were identified as Ozaifa, 10, daughter of Al-Amin; Afsa, 12, daughter of Munna; Riya Moni, 8, daughter of Jahangir; and Rubaiya,8, daughter of Rakib. All of them were students at a local school.

According to police and locals, the children went missing at noon, prompting a search by their families. Suspicions were raised when their shoes and sandals were found near a pond next to Munna's house.

Family members and locals subsequently rescued the children from under the water. Two of them were rushed to Araihazar Upazila Health Complex, while the other two were taken to a local clinic, where doctors declared all four dead, reports BSS.
