2 Rohingyas shot dead during gunfight at Ukhiya camp

Cox's Bazar, Sept 14 --Two Rohingyas were shot dead during a gunfight between two armed groups at Ukhiya camp in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Shamshu Alam ,23, son of Abdul Hamid of Camp No. 7 and Nur Mohammad ,17, son of Salim of D-4 block of Camp-2/E

The incident took place around 4:30 pm in Ukhiya’s Palang Khali Camp-6, said Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ukhiya police station.

Police suspected that the crime happened to establish supremacy in the refugee camp.

Members of law enforcement agencies are working to arrest those involved in the murder, added the OC.

The bodies were sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy, he said. - UNB
