Chuadanga hit hard by heat wave again



Chuadanga, June 07 -The residents of Chuadanga are suffering under a heat wave again. 

Amid the sweltering heat in different parts of the country, Chuadanga recorded the highest temperature at 38.5 degree Celsius on Friday.

Earlier on Thursday, the temperature was recorded at 35.5 degree Celsius. The temperature increased by 3 degree Celsius in a day.

Jaminur Rahman, in-charge of Chuadanga Weather Observatory Centre, said that the district is in the throes of a second heat wave in a month. 

The temperature increased by 3 degree Celsius in a day and turned into a moderate heat wave, he added.

The situation may persist for 5 to 6 days, he said further.

The people of the district, especially the low-income people are in dire straits due to the continuous intense heat.

Working people were seen resting under trees and in shady places hoping for some relief.

A passerby named Shyamal said, his whole body was wet with sweat while leaving home and going to the office in the afternoon. "It is really unbearable."-UNB
